ISO 30000 standard specifies requirements for a ship recycling facility considering Health & safety standards, environmental elements and regulatory requirement in order to carry out safe and environmentally sound ship recycling. URS conducts audits thoroughly against ISO 30000 standard requirements of a ship recycling facility and certifies against ISO 30000 standard.
ISO 30000 Standard applies to the entire process of ship recycling from accepting a ship for recycling by the facility to the final disposal of the ship. The overall objective of this standard is to ensure recycling process in a safe and environmentally sound manner.
Organization involves in ship recycling are required to assess hazards onboard the ship, during its recycling and handling of the material comes out from the ship along with identification and compliance of all applicable regulatory obligation for ship recycling. They need to maintain policy and SOPs for safe and environment friendly ship recycling along with training to all the team members involves in the process.
